🎹 Fall Season Update at Jay’s Music Academy: Animal Alphabet Progress & What’s Ahead 🍂

As autumn settles in, we’re thrilled to share exciting updates from our Little Keynotes Group Piano Classes—and celebrate the incredible progress our young musicians have made!

🌟 Nearing a Major Milestone

Our students are close to completing their very first music book: the Animal Alphabet Music Book! This is a huge achievement, especially for our youngest learners, and we couldn’t be prouder of their dedication and growth.

🎶 What We’ve Been Working On

In recent classes, we’ve reviewed Lessons 1–3 (C, D & E) and began playing together as an ensemble, working on the Complete Animal Alphabet Composition (Page 11 – Worksheet 9). It’s been inspiring to see our Little Keynoters collaborate musically and build confidence in their playing.

Here’s a quick look at what we’ve accomplished so far:

Lesson 1: C is for Cat – Finger 1
Lesson 2: D is for Dog – Fingers 2 & 1
Lesson 3: E is for Elephant – Fingers 3, 2 & 1
Lesson 4: F is for Fox – Fingers 4 & 3
Lesson 5: G is for Giraffe – Fingers 5, 4, 3
Lesson 6: A is for Alligator – Fingers 1, 2 & 3
Lesson 7: B is for Bear – Fingers 1 & 2
Lesson 8: Student Compositions
Lesson 9: Ensemble performance of the Complete Animal Alphabet Composition

🎼 Looking Ahead: Lessons 10–12

The final lessons in our Animal Alphabet journey will focus on:
Building performance confidence
Strengthening music theory knowledge
Refining hand positioning and finger technique
By now, most students can play each Animal Alphabet song. While some may still be developing confidence, that’s perfectly normal—this is their first complete music book, and they’re doing wonderfully!

🎵 Musical Skills Your Child Has Gained

Here are just a few of the musical concepts and skills your child has already begun to master:
Recognizing and playing notes C through B
Understanding rhythm and melody
Developing proper hand and finger technique
Listening and playing as part of an ensemble
Expressing themselves through music, movement, and composition

Our young musicians are blossoming—gaining not only musical skills but also confidence, creativity, and a love for learning. The Animal Alphabet journey has laid a strong foundation, and the upcoming seasonal activities will continue to nurture their artistic expression in joyful and meaningful ways.

At Jay’s Music Academy, we believe that music is more than notes on a page—it’s a language of emotion, imagination, and connection. Thank you for being part of this journey and for supporting your child’s musical growth. We can’t wait to see what they’ll create next!

Here’s to a season filled with music, memories, and milestones. 🎶🍁
