Piano is a wonderful entry point, offering a solid musical foundation, coordination, and theory. Our approach blends time-tested techniques with modern methods, helping students build strong technical skills, deepen their musical understanding, and grow in confidence—all while discovering and expressing their unique artistic voice.
Voice lessons help children and adults develop vocal techniques, pitch accuracy, and stage presence. These sessions build confidence and self-expression, whether the desire is to sing in a choir or perform solo.
Guitar is a versatile and exciting instrument that encourages creativity and discipline. Private guitar lessons help students master chords, strumming patterns, and fingerstyle techniques in a supportive, focused setting.
Violin lessons promote fine motor skills, ear training, and patience. With private instruction, students receive the attention they need to develop proper technique and a deep appreciation for classical music.

Saxophone is a bold and expressive instrument perfect for older children. Our Spanish-language saxophone lessons make music education more accessible to families who prefer instruction in their native language. Our goal is to provide Saxophone lesson in English in the future.

At Jay’s Music Academy, we’ve found that age 5 is the ideal time for most children to begin private instruction. By this age, children typically have:

✅ The fine motor coordination needed for instruments like piano, guitar, or violin
✅ The focus and patience to follow step-by-step instruction
✅ The reading readiness to begin learning musical notation

Younger children (ages 18 months–5yrs) still benefit immensely from our group-based programs like our Mommy & Me Music Play and Pre-notes Piano Prep, where they can explore rhythm, movement, and early musical skills in a fun, pressure-free environment. These foundational experiences prepare them beautifully for private study later. Group lessons are often a more convenient and affordable option for children ages 5–13, especially those who are still developing their interest and discipline in music.
